A Watford woman is facing 12 charges after a robbery at a local pharmacy.

Around 9:45 am Tuesday, a woman came into McLaren’s Pharmacy and confronted staff with a knife making demands for oxycontin. Police say she forced her way behind the counter and grabbed medication from the shelves. Staff members tried to intervene, but were assaulted.

OPP arrived just as the woman left the building. The officer gave chase but the woman didn’t stop. She eventually ended up at an Ontario Street apartment complex – barged into four different apartments trying to evade police. Police surrounded the building and eventually arrested a woman.

Kelly McLean, 34, has been charged with:

  • Robbery with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

  • Uttering Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Break & Enter and commit Assault
  • Unlawfully in a Dwelling House (3 counts)
  • Assault (3 counts)

She remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 26, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia.
