Petrolia’s hospital foundation is getting involved in a massive lottery to help raise cash for hospital equipment.

The Bluewater Health Foundation has run the Dream Home Lottery for 25 years – purchasing a home and selling tickets at $100 each to raise money to improve Bluewater Health. This year, the Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital Foundation is partnering with the group on a huge lottery which could raise up to $600,000 to be shared by the two foundations.

Two homes, including one on Sunset Court in Petrolia, will be part of the fundraiser. There is also a BMW up for offer.

Kathy Alexander, executive director of the Bluewater Health Foundation, says the prize board this year tops $1 million. She adds 50,000 tickets will be sold, instead of the usual 8,500. And they’ll be available online this year.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 1.
