Kids will have fewer options for playing outside.

The Lambton-Kent District School Board says the play equipment at its schools is off-limits.

In a social media post, the board says it is an attempt to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus during the time the schools have been ordered closed by the Minister of Education. Officials say the equipment can’t be property sanitized right now.

The City of Sarnia also banned the use of playground equipment yesterday. In Petrolia, officials said they had not made a decision yet but would be taking advice from Lambton Public Health.

Warwick Township has also posted signs asking people not to use the equipment at local parks.
