Six Lambton long term care homes dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks

Lambton County’s long term care homes are once again dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks.

Six homes have had cases of the virus since mid-September and are still in active outbreak including Meadowview Villa in Petrolia which has less than five cases in residents and staff members.

The largest outbreak is at Watford Quality Care where 33 residents have tested positive as well as some staff members.

Albany Retirement Village in Petrolia also has 23 cases of the virus. Brookeside Retirement, Trillium and Sumac Lodge are all also dealing with outbreaks.

As the virus makes its return as more people move inside, there are nine people in hospital with COVID-19 – none in intensive care. Lambton Public Health says about two people a day tested positive for the virus in the first week of October.

Bright’s Grove library construction expected to start in July

And that means the Gallery in the Grove will close Saturday.
