Fex National Lacrosse MVP

Petrolia’s Zoe Fex led Team Ontario to a silver medal at the National Lacrosse Championship in Coquitlam BC this weekend. BC defeated Ontario in the final 8-0. Fex backstopped her team throughout the weekend, sharing goaltending duties with Cloe Douillette. And the Petrolia teen was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Annual Sydenham Canoe Race cancelled because of high water levels

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) and St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation (SCRCF) have cancelled the annual Sydenham Canoe and Kayak Race which was scheduled for Sunday. Oiler Midget Reps bow out of the OMHA Playoffs

The second season is over for the Petrolia Midget Reps. They lost the first round series to the Wallaceburg Lakers 3-0 after a 5-1 loss Wednesday night at home. The Lakers previously bested the Reps 4-1 Sunday and 3-1 Friday. Previously the Oilers topped the Lakers in both the regional and international Silver Stick tournaments.

Petrolia teen aims to raise $2.2 million for multi-use tennis facility

Matt Mueller is moving his dream to Petrolia.
