The Petrolia Squires will be hoping to maintain their perfect start when they host the Erin Outlaws on Friday night at Greenwood at 8:30 pm.
Last week, playing with a short bench of just 14 players and a red-hot goaltender, the Squires recorded a 4-1 win against the Centenaries in Ontario Elite Hockey League action in Seaforth Saturday.
Jakob Knowles stopped 38 of 39 shots and now has an early season save percentage of .977. He has made 131 saves in his first three starts of the campaign and drew an assist on Petrolia’s first goal of the contest for good measure.
Seaforth outshot Petrolia, 39-23 including registering double digit shot totals in each of the three periods.
TJ Harris put the Squires on the board in the first period and Daniel Gibson scored in the second as the Squires had slim period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
Ben Schoch and Zach VanEyk put the game away with goals late in the third period.
Petrolia is now 4-0 on the season. Seaforth drops to 5-2.
