Petrolia’s minor hockey players will be front and center this weekend as the local association celebrated 51 years of the game.

Friday night, minor hockey players from every age group will parade through Petrolia’s downtown starting at 6 pm. Then many of them will end up at the Greenwood Recreation Center for the Petrolia Squires game against Tillsonburg.

The Timbit players will warm up with the Squires and the fans will be treated to a Tyke mini game in the first intermission.

The Petrolia Novice Girls will sing the national anthem at the start of the game.

Then Saturday, the minor hockey association is hosting a dance at the Wyoming Fair Building featuring rumblefish.

Petrolia may spend $15 million for capital projects in 2026
