Talk about a $100,000 smile.
Kathy Raes could hardly keep from smiling after winning $100,000 while playing her favourite lottery.
“Instant Money Multiplier is one of my favourite games,” Raes says in a news release issued by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission. “When I realized I won, I thought it was a mistake – I thought that I had scratched the card too hard.”
Raes says she was so excited, she could barely get the ticket into the self-checker at the variety store at the Shell 21 in Petrolia. “I don’t have words for how I felt when the machine said ‘Big Winner.’”
Raes told OLG officials she has no plans for the money yet adding, “I have to process the news – I’m going to take some time to think about my future plans.”
