Public health looking for people who may have been exposed to Lambton’s third measles case
Petrolia’s history soon will be on display

Coming soon to a public space near you – the history of Petrolia.
Jean Bradshaw, one of the people hoping to establish a museum for the community, says they will soon be bringing out some of their artifacts and putting them in public spaces for people to see.
Bradshaw says sports memorabilia, such as a football from a Western Ontario Championship game in 1923, may end up in a display case at the Greenwood Recreation Centre. Other items could be displayed at the Petrolia Library and Victoria Hall.
Bradshaw is hoping having the items out will get people talking. “People do come in and see something and say ‘Oh, I have that or I have a jacket with a lot of pennants from school,’” she says.
“They might only have one or two things and think it is not important because they’ don’t have a collection – but that’s how collections starts.”
Bradshaw says the museum group is just beginning work on the project and she’s not sure exactly when the items will be found in the community.
