Killer Bees lose Game 5 in WOSHL Final in OT

The Alvinston Killer Bees face elimination in Game 6 of the Western Ontario Super Hockey League finals.

Austin Forsyth scored first and last as the Tillsonburg Thunder took Game 5 over the Alvinston Killer Bees in Tillsonburg Saturday.

Forsyth scored with 12:43 left in the first period but the Killer Bees came storming back with three goals in the second.

James McEwan drew first blood, assisted by Alex Cunningham and Owen McGowan. McEwan assisted in Robert McLean’s goal just 36 second later. Franco Sproverio also assisted. And Carson Perry lit the red light with just over seven minutes left in the second off the sticks of Caden Faulkner and Tye Johnson.

The Thunder tied it up before the end of the second, off of goals by Spenser Huchinson and Braedyn Aubin.

McEwan wrestled back the Killer Bees lead with just five minutes left in the third. Aubin tied things up for the Thunder to take the game into overtime.

Forsyth put the bookend on the night with a shot off Andrew Whalen’s stick just two and a half minutes into OT.

The Killer Bees face elimination Monday night at the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre. Game time is 8 pm.
