Friends and family of Danny Gibbons are planning a fundraiser.

The Petrolia man suffered a severe head injury in an accident near Oil Springs four weeks ago. The 21 year-old was in a pickup truck with four others on Oil Springs Line just west of Oil Heritage Road and South Plank Road when the Chev pick-up rolled.

A Facebook page dedicated to Gibbons said he had severe head injuries and damage to his lungs in the accident. He’s been in hospital in London with his family by his side since then.

Demi Krall has been a friend of Gibbons since they were 11 years old. She’s one of the people behind the evening of music and fundraising at the Wyoming Fair Building March 29. Krall wants to help the family in a difficult time. “It’s been a struggle but we’re still hoping for the best.”

Krall says the family is facing a lot of expenses as the attend Gibbons and family and friends want to make sure there is money available for any medical needs in the future. The fundraiser, she says, seemed like the natural thing to do. “I’ve known him since we were 11 years-old and I know he would do the same for anyone else,” she says.

The event runs from 7 pm to 1 am with raffles throughout the evening. Tickets for the event are available at . Pray’n for Danny stickers are also available at West End Pumps, Crabby Joe’s in Petrolia, Clayton Automotive, Confederation Lube and Oil and Bayview Chrysler in Sarnia  as part of the fundraising effort for Gibbons.
