One man is in critical condition and four others were injured after an explosion and fire on Scott Road.

Sarnia Police, Fire and EMS rushed to Veolia ES Canada Industrial Services on Scott road at 2:41 pm after an explosion. A photo provided by the police department shows the roof crumbling into the concrete building, windows blasted out and pickup truck damaged by fire.

Police say five people who worked at the industrial cleaning services company were taken to Bluewater Health first. One person, who was critically injured, was airlifted to London. The workers names have not been released yet.

The fire was brought under control quickly and the Ministry of Labour and police are still on the scene trying to figure out the cause of the explosion and fire.
