May 29, 2015
Petrolia Council members and staff get into the selfie-spirit Monday.
It may seem as if the paparazzi have arrived in Petrolia Saturday.
The town and the Volunteer Business Group are kicking off their Picture Yourself in Petrolia promotion with a flurry of events.
The Farmers’ Market officially opens Saturday with live music and the Mayor’s annual barbecue. At 9 am, the town will unveil its latest tourist promotion, tourism carts.
Also Saturday, there will be horse and wagon tours through the downtown starting at 11:30am until 3:30 pm and live music throughout the downtown.
It’s all to encourage shoppers to take selfies with the hash tag ‘Petroliaselfie’ as part of the contest, which includes prizes from downtown businesses. The photos will be displayed during Pizzafest June 6.
