Petrolia Midget Reps claim Regional Silver Stick
January 3, 2016
The Petrolia Oiler Midget Reps claimed Silver Stick glory over the Mooretown Jr Flags in dramatic fashion.
Jack Hackett had his third game winning goal of the Earl Trevail Memorial Silver Stick in overtime Saturday against Mooretown to claim the title for Petrolia.
The Oilers scored with a little over a minute left in the first period and held the 1-0 lead until late in the third when Mooretown scored with just three minutes left in regulation time.
Just two and a half minutes into the overtime period, Hackett stormed Mooretown’s net and scored.
The Reps move on to the North American final in Forest.
Meantime the Petrolia Bantams are in the semifinal Sunday afternoon starting at 12:45 pm in Watford after beating Lambeth 6-3 in the quarter finals. If they advance, the finals are at 5:45 pm.
