Plympton-Wyoming looking for bus service to Camlachie
June 15, 2016
Plympton-Wyoming is asking Sarnia to consider extending its buses to Camlachie.
Councillor Netty McEwen made the suggestion at a recent council meeting after hearing questions from local residents.
Mayor Lonny Napper says the idea of providing some sort of bussing into Sarnia has been considered for some time. Petrolia and Wyoming were working together on a plan several years ago but it didn’t get off the ground because of liability concerns.
The county is now working with several groups to see if a rural transportation system can be created. It’s still in the planning stages.
Napper isn’t sure whether Sarnia busses will ever service Camlachie saying he isn’t certain if that’s even possible. He does note that Point Edward has a contract for service with Sarnia Transit.
