Wyoming wins first Mosquito Optimist Gold Bat
June 27, 2016
The Wyoming Majors have won the first Mosquito Gold Bat hosted by the Lambton Central Optimists and they did it dramatic fashion.
Wyoming came into the final at Kerr Park with four wins to take on Georgina (north of Newmarket) which were 3-1 in the tourney.
The Bulldogs scored four in the first inning but the Majors has two of their own. They were up 6-4 before Georgina came back to tie the game.
It was 6-6 in the 9th and Wyoming allowed just one hit in the half inning.
Then, with the bases loaded, the winning run was a result of a missed third strike. He was ruled safe when the catcher failed to tag him.
