Learning about Black Gold
July 20, 2016
Hundreds of people came out to learn more about Lambton County’s oil heritage at the Oil Museum of Canada’s Black Gold Day. Visitors got their hands on oil drilling equipment including Gabriella Baird of Allen Texas who learns how to drill wood. Visitors watched spinning displays with Spinners Elaine Dobbin, Christie Poolman and Missy Whaley, were serenaded by piper David Cummings and took wagon tours given by Claire Jardine through historic oil fields catching a glimpse of Murray Watson’s metal sculptures depicting Oil Spring’s history.
