Organizers are gearing up for a milestone SilverStick in Petrolia.
The 50th Annual Earle Trevail Memorial Regional SilverStick Tournament starts Dec. 27 in Petrolia.
Trevail was one of the original organizers of the Petrolia Silver Stick Midget Tournament which started in 1969.
From 1968 through 1982, Earle was the tournament secretary-treasurer. Earle was also an active member of the Petrolia Minor Hockey Association from 1966 through to the late 1970’s.
After he died in 1983 of Lou Gehrig’s disease, organizers named the Petrolia tournament in his honour.
This year, 16 teams will be in Petrolia starting Dec. 27, including two home teams.
Teams from all over North America will play in 55 Silver Stick Tournaments this season including the International Finals Tournaments consisting of 8 Boys, 4 Girl’s and our Sled Hockey.

Petrolia Water intake contractor approved
