Lambton ‘in the driver’s seat’ as province eyes nuclear power in Courtright
Petrolian honoured by the Governor General
February 22, 2018
Petrolia’s Terry May was given a rare honour. Canada’s Gov. General, the Rt. Honourable Julie Payette, presented the former Oil Springs firefighter with a Medal of Bravery – one of seven civilians in the country to receive the award at Tuesday’s ceremony in Toronto. On April 6, 2016, May went into his neighbour’s burning home and found her lying on the floor. He went in and dragged her to the back door where others helped him get out of the building. The medal recognizes those who act to save another without thinking of their own safety.
