A pair of last second goals – one in overtime – were enough to boost the LCCVI Girls Hockey team to victory over Sandwich (Windsor) and punch a ticket to OFSSAA.

Down 1-0 through most of the game, Madi Walsh scored with just 56 seconds left in the third period to send the game to overtime.

Then at 2:36 in the fourth period, Kami Burr lifted the puck past Sandwich’s goalie for the winner.

The team heads to OFSSAA in Timmins after the March Break. Coach Lacey McPhail says the team is thrilled to be heading back to the provincials for the third year in a row.

The team has just three days to register and raise money for the trip. Anyone who wishes to donate so the team can fulfill its OFSSAA dream can call LCCVI at 519-882-1910.
