Wyoming restaurant heavily damaged by fire
May 9, 2019
Plympton-Wyoming Fire Chief Steve Clemens says Athena’s Restaurant on Broadway St. was heavily damaged in a morning fire.
Wyoming, Camlachie and Petrolia/North Enniskillen firefighters were called to the restaurant around 6 am after a firefighter on his way to work spotted the blaze. An employee was in the restaurant at the time. He was evaluated by the paramedics on the scene.
Clemens says the inside of the restaurant sustained a lot of damage. Firefighters also had to cut a hole in the roof to vent the fire. One of the nearby units in the plaza had some smoke damage while another seemed untouched.
Clemens says the investigation into the cause is underway.
