Petrolia Y closed after water problems
January 2, 2020
If you’re trying to get 2020 off on the right foot, this could be a problem.
The Petrolia Y is closed after a pool level sensor failed in the Therapy Pool.
The sensor maintains water depth, and due to the failure, there is now pooling of water in the lobby, change rooms, offices, and
part of the Wellness Centre.
Water has been shut off to the area, and a restoration team is on site to clean up the excess water and to dry the facility. A repair request has been made to replace the faulty sensor, and staff expect the facility to re-open tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m.
YMCA Staff say there may be some minor inconveniences in the Wellness Centre tomorrow morning as they have pulled back some
flooring to allow for proper drying.
At this time, damages to the facility are not expected to be serious in nature as most of the water has impacted hard-floor areas.
