Maple Syrup Festivals cancelled in the wake of COVID-19
March 15, 2020
Two local firefighters’ associations have cancelled their maple syrup/pancake events.
The organizers of the 48th Annual Maple Syrup Festival in Alvinston made the call Saturday based on recommendations from the Ministry of Health, Lambton Public Health and Brooke Alvinston Emergency Management that any mass gatherings above 250 people be suspended until further notice.
Officials said “keeping everyone safe is paramount for our service and anything we can do to prevent anyone from becoming ill, we believe is most important.”
The Warwick Firefighters Association has also cancelled its breakfast which was slated for March 22.
