‘A dangerous precedent’ CKs mayor says removing EA will have ‘devastating impact’

No long-weekend camping in Lambton conservation areas
May 1, 2020
There will be no camping on the May long weekend in local conservation areas this year.
The St. Clair Region says A.W. Campbell, Lorne C. Henderson and Warwick Conservation Areas to recreational seasonal and overnight campers will remain closed to campers until May 31.
Previously, the opening had been delayed from April 24 to May 14.
“The SCRCA understands the frustration and disappointment our visitors may have with this decision, but the health and safety of our communities and staff is of paramount importance,” says Brian McDougall, general manager of the conservation authority. “The opening of the camping season will be determined based on the guidance of health officials.”
The provincial parks are also closed until May 31.
