Lambton ‘in the driver’s seat’ as province eyes nuclear power in Courtright
Size of Petrolia council may be up for debate again

The size of Petrolia council may be up for debate again.
Mayor Brad Loosley has a notice of motion on Monday’s council agenda asking council to direct staff to prepare a report on whether the number of councillors should be reduced.
The Municipal Act states there should be a minimum of five people on council, including the mayor. Petrolia has seven.
Former Mayor John McCharles brought the idea up before the last municipal election but council didn’t act on the idea after there was some public concern about changing the composition of council so close to an election.
