‘A couple thousand’ turns into significantly more for Petrolia man
April 29, 2021
Jason Hodgins thought he’d won a “couple thousand” bucks playing Encore.
It was a little more than a couple.
The 44 year-old Petrolia man was shocked to find he’d won $100,000. He checked his ticket with his wife, whom he says “was more excited than I was.”
Hodgins and his wife are expecting their second child so some of the cash will go to buy a new crib. “I’ll treat myself to a metal detector and my son to a Nintendo Switch.”
“It’s still unbelievable and surreal. It’s so nice to see my bank balance jump up,” says the skilled tradesman.
