Pandemic graduation 2.0 – Lancers celebrate class of 2021
June 15, 2021
Graduations are known to be long affairs, but the 2021 edition at LCCVI may go on record as one of the longest.
The school’s staff didn’t want the second class graduating through the pandemic to be deprived of some of the joy of graduation, so they set up a drive by ceremony. The first graduate, Elizabeth Colvin, drove through the graduation stations at 1 pm Tuesday.
By Wednesday at 7:45pm the last of the graduates will walk across the stage set up in the parking lot of the Petrolia school.
Principal Greg Nemcek said they wanted to do something to mark this milestone event and about 80 per cent of the class signed up for a time to walk across the stage and pose for photos.
