Not wanting to keep young soccer players in limbo any longer, the Petrolia Soccer Association has cancelled this year’s season.
A news release from the board says they met Tuesday to discuss the 2021 season and “We desperately want to have a season for the kids,” said Jessica Hext.
“But the picture of what that would look like, with so many unknowns and the very strict restrictions and guidelines we would have to follow, didn’t look at all feasible” because of pandemic restrictions.
Hext says the board is considering some indoor soccer at Kingswell Glen later in the year to “try to salvage something for these kids who have been through so much this year.”
