A town favourite is returning to Petrolia this year.

The annual Labour Day weekend Barn Dance is on for Saturday, Sept. 4. The Petrolia Farmers’ Market Pavilion will be the venue and feature live music from Scott Manery and the Barnburners. Beer and food will be available and entry is free.

The town also announced the postponed Canada Day Fireworks are rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 3. Start time is slated for 9:00 pm at Greenwood Park.

Shuttles will be provided to and from the fireworks. In case of rain the show will take place Sunday, Sept. 5.

“We are excited to be returning to in-person events and are very much looking forward to celebrating Canada Day with fireworks and hearing Scott Manery rock Petrolia once again!” says Dave Menzies, director of community services.

People are advised to check current COVID guidelines a week before Labour Day weekend to see what’s allowed.

“Safety for our attendees is paramount and our staff and volunteers have signed up in record numbers to ensure that all COVID-19 guidelines are met and exceeded and to make sure that everyone has a fantastic time – together!” says Menzies.
