Indiana woman facing assault and resisting arrest charges after border incident

An Indiana woman is facing charges after an altercation at the Canada/US border in Point Edward.
Saturday, just before midnight, Lambton County OPP was contacted by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) after a vehicle fled the border crossing into Canada in Point Edward. Prior to fleeing, the driver made intentional contact with CBSA vehicles.
The OPP and Sarnia Police Service found the vehicle. The driver assaulted an officer while being placed under arrest.
Alisha ADKINS, 41, of Indiana, has been charged with the following dangerous driving, mischief over $5,000, resisting arrest, unauthorized possession of a weapon and assault with the intent to resist arrest.
She’s in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
