Province keeps capacity limits at clubs and wedding receptions to 50 per cent

Night clubs and wedding reception venues will have to deal with capacity limits for a while longer.

The province says it won’t lift the 50 per cent cap on capacity at higher risk settings where proof of vaccination is required. Those limits originally were supposed to be lifted Nov. 15.

Ontario’s COVID-19 rates are rising as people move indoors in the colder weather, as predicted by scientist. Today, 948 cases were reported across the province. Some communities, including nearby Chatham-Kent, are imposing new gathering limits to try to stem the spread of the virus.

Today in Lambton, there are 65 people ill with the virus and public health is monitoring five outbreaks including one at Generations Day Care at St. Philips and an outbreak at St. Annes in Sarnia where six people are ill.
