All Canadian Clash in Gold Medal Game At U17 World Challenge
The Essex 73’s scored twice in the opening three minutes and 15 seconds on home ice Tuesday and went on to beat the Mooretown Flags 9-1, eliminating the Flags from the playoffs.
Essex wins the best-of-seven divisional semifinals, four games to one.
Last Thursday, Nolan Farr scored both Flag goals in a 3-2 overtime setback to the 73’s and ex-Petrolia goaltender Jakob Knowles blocked 30 shots for the shutout to backstop Essex to a 4-0 win at Mooretown last Saturday night.
