Flyers split first two games of Tier Two final

The Petrolia Flyers and Blenheim Blades are tied at one game each in the PJHL tier two finals after the Blades rallied from 4-1 deficit to beat Petrolia, 5-4 in overtime last night in the Chatham-Kent Community.

The tying goal was originally waved off but then later changed.

Andrew Jaques, Nathan Clatworthy, Landon Marcy and Clay Dolbear scored for the Flyers.

Dolbear has five goals in two games following a four-goal explosion in a 6-2 victory in the opener at Petrolia Saturday.

Daniel Gibson and Michael Vanek also scored for the Flyers in the opener.

Josh Jamieson had three assists and Tyler Richardson blocked 30 shots.

Game three is Thursday night at Greenwood at 7:30.

Meantime, ex-Flyer Jakob Knowles made 32 saves to backstop Essex to a 2-1 in over the Canadiens in Lakeshore Sunday. The 73’s lead the best-of-seven, two games to one. Game four is in Essex tomorrow night.
