Government offices, schools closed as winter storm hits Lambton

December 23, 2022

Many municipal offices are closed due to the weather.

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning saying there will be wind gusts up to 90 km/h resulting in widespread blowing snow which will reduce visibility to near zero at times. Utility outages are possible.
Snowfall amounts of 5 to 15 cm by Saturday morning.
Wind chill values will be in the minus twenties.

Lambton County’s administration building is closed; adult day programs have been cancelled and the county’s art gallery and museums are closed due to the winter storm. They’ll remain closed Saturday. Lambton Shared Services is closing at noon today.

In Petrolia, Town Hall is closed as is the box office for Victoria Playhouse Petrolia.

And both the public and separate school boards cancelled the final day of class before Christmas break due to the storm.

If you were planning to go out, it is best to call in advance to see if your destination is open.
