Alvinston connection to national team

Softball Canada has named 32 players to initial list of possible players for Canada’s national team for 2023.

The list includes Jeff Lyons and Ty Sebastian.  Lyons played with the former Alvinston Indians until the St. Thomas and District League folded in 2016 and is currently playing with his hometown Appin Athletics in the Southwest Middlesex League.

Sebastian, played with the former Indians about a decade ago while he was a teenager in school.  He was part of Canada’s national team that won silver at the World Cup last year.

Lyons and Sebastian will train with the national group until a final roster is named. Team Canada is ranked second in the world in men’s softball.
