Flyers lose a heartbreaker in OT

Ty Fletcher’s in the first minute of the second overtime period lifted the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs to a 4-3 win over the Petrolia Flyers in game one of their PJHL Yeck Division quarterfinal Thursday at Greenwood.

Elijah Grant made 46 saves, including 29 in the third period and first overtime, as the visitors otshot the Flyers, 50-31.

Daniel Gibson, on a first period penalty shot, Noah Harse and Kyle Flamminio scored to give Petrolia 3-1 lead early in the second period before the Bulldogs battled back to force extra time.

Game two in the series is in Mt. Brydges Saturday night with the third game scheduled for Petrolia on Sunday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30.
