Hospital Auxiliary raising $20,000 for the equipment

The Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital Auxiliary wants to help health care providers with CPR.

The group is raising $20,000 for a LUCAS machine – the Lund University Cardiac Arrest System – a mechanical chest compression device used in resuscitation efforts. The lithium battery powered computerized unit is designed to give textbook CPR to a patient in distress.

The unit, which was on display at the Petrolia Legion Friday night, cost $20,000 which the auxilary has committed to raising by June. The group is off to a good start. It already had $6,000 committed when it received $4,000 from the Shop Like Charlotte event organizer, Denise Thibeault at the presentation.
