The community of Inwood is marking 150 years in June.

While the thriving business community has waned, the sense of community is still strong with the local church hosting monthly events to bring people together.

A group of community volunteers has formed the Inwood 150th Celebration Committee and is planning two days of fun at the community park.

Recently, Chair Donna Oriet wrote to Brooke-Alvinston council saying the celebration would be June 24 and 25 at Inwood Community Park.

The municipality agreed to let the group use the park for free for two days, made the group a committee of council so the celebration will be under the municipality’s insurance and will help promote the event by mailing out a schedule of events and advertising them on the municipality’s social media page.
