LCCVI’S ROMBOUTS QUALIFIES FOR PROVINCIAL HIGH SCHOOL GOLF FINAL
Petrolia’s mayor on medical leave

Petrolia Mayor Brad Loosley is taking a leave of absence.
Council approved the three month leave at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Town officials said the absence is “to deal with a medical issue.” The medical issue was not disclosed.
The longest serving member of council, Councillor Joel Field, will serve as acting mayor until the Loosley returns at the mayor’s suggestion.
Field says he’s encouraged by the support of the mayor and council and will his best during Loosley’s absence.
“I’d like to wish Mayor Loosley as speedy recovery during his absence from his illness,” said Councillor Chad Hyatt who chaired Tuesday night’s council meeting.
Under the Ontario Municipal Act council members can take a leave of absence of up to three months with council approval.
