The Watford Optimists celebrated 50 years of serving the community by thanking people who serve the community. George and Rhonda Noll were named the Optimists’ Citizens of the Year at their banquet over the Easter weekend which 400 people attended. The couple headed up the East Lambton Community Complex Fundraising campaign. The Optimists also recognized the founding members of the Optimist Club, Harley and Dorothy Wilcocks and Jerry and Joan Westgate.

Highway 21 closed through Grand Bend for major fire

No injuries have been reported The Independent Lambton OPP are reporting a major fire in Grand Bend Friday afternoon. Police say there is a structure fire between Lake Road and Greenhaven Drive which has closed Highway 21/Ontario Street. Oil Springs receives $81K for recreation project as Alix Foundation grants awarded
