Warwick launches review of leader’s Twitter comments

May 19, 2023

Warwick Township has launched a review of comments posted by a township employee.

Mayor Todd Case says the township was asked by a media outlet about a post on the personal Twitter feed of Warwick Fire Chief Brad Goodhill last weekend. He had shared a post that said transgenderism is a mental illness. Goodhill’s Twitter feed at that time noted he was the fire chief in the municipality. He has since removed his title from the social media feed.

CAO Amanda Gubbels says an internal review is underway. “We do have a number of policies that are related, including a social media policy. And so that’s one of the things that will be be reviewed.”

That policy, which applies to media sites managed by the township, prohibits a number of things including comments which could foster discrimination.

Gubbels could not say how long the review would take.
