Sarnia Brigade takes silver at AAA tourney

BRIDGE WINS SILVER IN VAUGHAN

The Sarnia Brigade won four of five contests and took home the silver medal at the Vaughan AAA Invitational baseball tournament on the weekend.

The troops beat teams from Mississauga, Vaughan, Newmarket and Brampton before falling in the final to Windsor.

Core Jackson homered and drove in four runs against Mississauga. Mike Damchuk was the winning pitcher. Quinton Johnson threw the complete game shutout against the host team with Brad Hill hitting a triple and scoring three runs. Sarnia scored nine times in the fourth inning and Derek Masse was the winning pitcher against Newmarket and Alex McLean threw three scoreless inning in relief in the victory over Brampton.

Kyle Moloney and Mack Maxwell homered for Sarnia.

The Brigade lost 9-4 in the championship contest.

Lightning win gold at OWHA provincials
