Driver swerves to avoid cat, crashes in St. Clair Township

The driver was lucky. The cat, not so much.
St. Clair Fire responded to a car accident near the intersection of Petrolia Line and Kimball Road Thursday and found a vehicle upside down in the ditch.
Chief Richard Boyes says the driver swerved to avoid a cat and veered into the ditch striking a cement culvert and then going end over end before landing on the roof. The driver had only minor injuries, Boyes says. The vehicle was heavily damaged.
The cat was found dead at the scene.
