Petrolia chocolatier wins Canadian awards

Call her the caramel queen.

Jaclyn Sanders – the chocolatier behind Petrolia’s Guild Chocolates has earned national acclaim winning gold, silver and bronze for her chocolate enrobed caramels the International Chocolate Awards announced this week.

The Earl Grey variety won gold, the coffee caramel won silver and the passion praline won bronze in the category in the International Chocolate Awards Canadian Craft Chocolatier competition this month.

Sanders also won silver for Haskap, Strawberry, Goat Cheese in the flavoured white chocolate ganaches or truffles category.

Sanders can now enter the chocolate creations in the world’s largest chocolate competition – the World Finals of the International Chocolate Awards – in Florence, Italy for judging in October and November.

Sanders previously won silver and bronze at the world competition.
