Trailer destroyed, freezer damaged at truck stop fire
January 8, 2024
Plympton-Wyoming Fire Chief Erik Campbell says a quick response by Wyoming firefighters contained a blaze at the Flying J truck stop over the weekend.
Saturday, a trailer near the popular Highway 402 truck stop caught fire Saturday afternoon. Campbell says the fire was so intense the cause of the fire cannot be determined.
Campbell says the intense heat from the flames also damaged a nearby walk in freezer. He says a total of about $15,000 damage was done.
The fire chief added the trailer was far enough away from the gas pumps and the firefighters responded quickly enough that there was not any danger of the pumps catching fire.
