Lancers in OFSAA Hockey final

LCCVI is heading the OFSAA championship.

Moments ago The Lancers beat Thousand Island Secondary School from Brockville 6-2 to gain a berth to the final at 2 pm today.

Brayden Kominek and Kaiden Edwards had two goals apiece to lead the Lancers to victory.

Thousand Island drew first blood with Jack LaBrash scoring at 13:58 in the first. Then, LCCVI’s Jace Hall, with assists from Joey Shaw and Ryan Minten, tied it up.

Kominek added a second just 54 seconds later with help from Nolan Bourdage and Jack Thompson.

Edward scored the lone goal off the stick of Kominek in the second at 8:11.

Thousand Islands LaBrash got past LCCVI’s Sean Shanahan in the third.

But the Lancers stormed back with three. Edwards, Tyler McGrail and Kominek scored in the third to ice the victory. Minten, Nathan Reidhead, Bourdage, Tayt Stonehouse and Hunter Mitchell all had assists in the third.

The Lancers will take on either WOSSA champ St. Joseph or St Theresa from Quinte in the final at 2 pm.
