Retirement, training deadlines leave Oil Springs without fire chief on July 1

The Mooretown Lady Flags put a bow on the 2023-24 season with an OWHA provincial championship. The team ran the table in the U11 B division on the weekend winning six straight games while not allowing a single goal against.
The Lady Flags beat Cambridge, Cold Creek and Sault Ste. Marie, all by shutout, in the preliminary round. They blanked Brantford, 3-0 in the semi-finals and got by South Huron, 1-0 in the championship contest on Sunday.
They ended the season on an 18-game winning streak and had an overall record of 52-2-4. The Flags also won the Oakville Harvest tournament, Sarnia Girls Silver Stick and the Walter Gretzky tournament this season.
