May 14, 2024
A 21 year-old Petrolia man has been charged after a weekend accident at the corner of Mandaumin Road and Lasalle Line.
Firefighters from St. Clair Township and Petrolia along with the OPP were called to the corner just after 5 pm Sunday for the two car crash.
Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say. One of the OPP officers at the scene suspected the driver may have been drinking and demanded a roadside test.
Police say the 21 year-old from Petrolia was charged with refusing to comply with a demand for a breath test and failing to yield to traffic on a highway.
The man will be in court June 4. His vehicle was towed from the scene and will be impounded for seven days. His licence has also been suspended for 90 days.
