Fraud pilot project in Lambton saves $160,000 in six months

Weather prompts Canada Day weekend event changes
June 28, 2024
Early Canada Day celebrations in both Plympton-Wyoming and Warwick are being changed because of a rainy forecast.
Plympton-Wyoming’s Special Events Committee “made the difficult decision” to cancel the events scheduled for Wyoming Saturday. “All of our event activities and performances are outdoors and aren’t possible with the current forecast,” officials said online. Plympton-Wyoming had planned a parade and activities at McKay Park Saturday.
Meantime Warwick Township, which also has events Saturday, has moved everything inside to the East Lambton Community Complex. The events start at 11 am and run until noon.
