Families and friends lined the streets of Petrolia to celebrate the town’s 150th birthday with a parade Saturday.

There was everything from fire trucks to horses, politicians to clowns and lots of music. The 45-minute long parade started at LCCVI and went down Dufferin to Maude Street and then through the downtown where hundreds of people watched.

A team of volunteers headed up by Shirley Scott have revived the Bear Creek Express which used to give children rides on the north side of Bridgeview Park. It hasn’t been in use since 1974. The volunteers renewed the outside and expect to fix the engine in the future.
